塔石音乐&档案是一家独立的音乐机构。塔石致力于搜集、整理、传播音乐档案。这些档案包括了来自旧时代的模拟有声资料，也包括塔石团队原创的数位录音。同时，塔石的调研成员努力将声音的周边信息（文本和图像）归档于出版物，借由独立传播，呈现与音乐相关的社会记忆。
Tash，一个突厥语的词，汉语中意味着“石头”。TMA利用合适的设备和有经验的声音工程师，从当地的声音档案中检索包括音乐在内的材料，以及与音乐相关的文字、故事和视觉方面的内容。我们的设计师们以进一步表达音乐和声音的方式来设计产品的颜色和布局的细节。在地理上，中国内外的突厥地区对我们有着相同的吸引力，同时我们也对这些地区的音乐文化有着浓厚的兴趣。最后，我们努力用高质量的声音、图像和文字来保存当地的档案。
Tash, a Turkic term, means “stone” in English. Our Chinese name 塔石 literarily refers to the “temple-tower stone”. Utilizing suitable equipment and featuring experienced sound engineers, TMA retrieves materials, including the music, and the words, stories, and visual aspects related to the music, from local sound archives. Our design artists manage the visual details of the products’ color and layout in ways that further express the music and voices. Geographically, we have the general interest on the Turkic regions within and beyond China, although we are also deeply interested in the musical cultures surrounding these regions. In the end, we strive to preserve local archives using high quality sound, image and text.
